Stelios Philanthropic Foundation and Communaute Hellenique de Monaco hosted a reception last night in Monaco to learn about the good works of The Hellenic Initiative (THI), a humanitarian and economic development non-profit organisation that was established in 2009 to provide aid and development for Greece.
At its recent 7th Annual London Gala Sir Stelios and the Foundation was honored for its works in Greece by THI. UK Trustee Mr Peter Barton accepted the award on his behalf presented by Princess Tatianna of Denmark and Greece. The honour given for the Foundation’s work in Greece in helping alleviant day-to-day poverty through its Food from the Heart Programme as well as providing cash payments to families bereaves in the country’s recent wild fires and train cash that have claimed over 100 lives. The prize of 25k dollars will fund the 3rd prize for the “Stelios Awards for Young Entrepreneurs in Greece” in 2024.
In Monaco speeches were given by Sir Stelios and THI Co-Founder and Board President Mr George Stamas. The THI programmes support crisis relieve efforts, promote job creation and economic development. Direct grants of over 20.5 million have been given to over 100 different organiations with over 4,500 global contributors and a global audience of 35,000 online.
A minimum donation of 100 euros was requested of the guests and we are thrilled to announce and thank the guests who donated a total of 30,000 euros which the Stelios Foundation has doubled and a sum of 60,000 euro will be donated to The Hellenic Initiative.
