HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco and HRH Princess of Hanover attended a special musical matinée at the Princess Grace Irish Library to mark the 40th anniversary of its inauguration. The event, held on November 20, 2024, commemorated the library’s opening on the same date in 1984, a tribute to their mother, Princess Grace of Monaco.
The event was also attended by Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou, founder of the Stelios Philanthropic Foundation and a supporter of cultural and charitable initiatives in Monaco and beyond.
The matinée featured performances by young musicians from the Académie Rainier III and renowned Irish flute player Fintan Vallely.
This commemorative occasion celebrated Princess Grace’s connection to Ireland and her enduring legacy of promoting Irish culture and music, a mission that remains central to the library’s purpose.
Following the musical matinée, guests were invited to a luncheon hosted by Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou and the Stelios Philanthropic Foundation at the Foundation’s conference hall in Monaco. As supporters of the Library, the Foundation provided a welcoming space to continue the day’s celebrations. Learn more about the luncheon here here.
