Today, April 29, the Stelios Philanthropic Foundation attended the inauguration marking the completion of construction works at the shelter for abandoned dogs and cats in Peille and overseen by La Société Protectrice des Animaux (SPA) Monaco, under the presidency of Her Serene Highness Princess Charlene of Monaco.
Monegasque authorities and guests visited the new facilities, a modern structure set on a 2,340 m² site within a protected area and which can accommodate up to 40 dogs, including 6 in quarantine conditions, and around 50 cats including 7 in quarantine conditions. These enhancements ensure higher standards of welfare, hygiene, and long-term sustainability.
It was an honour to be present alongside His Serene Highness Prince Albert II and Her Serene Highness Princess Charlene of Monaco, and to hear her perspective on the issue of animal abandonment, as well as the importance of improving the care and rehoming of abandoned animals.
